Anti Money Laundering
From the 1st of July 2018, you will need to provide me with more information when I work with you.
This is to prevent financing terrorism or money laundering, and to ensure I am abiding by the Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (the Act).
I will need to know more about you, your transactions and financial history and may ask you about this in order to avoid breaching the Act. I am legally obligated to report suspicions I may have.
Individual: I will require proof of identity and your date of birth. Examples of this include your passport, drivers ID or your birth certificate.
Trust or company: As above, but I will also need information about anyone else involved in the company or trust; i.e. Directors, Shareholders, Trustees, etc.
Please do not be offended if I must ask questions about the source of the money or the reason you want me to act for you.
